Meet the Master... Executive Director, Dan Kwan
Dan Kwan brings over 20 years experience in design, management, F&B operations and an added understanding of construction, civil & mechanical design, structures, cuisine and finance. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Pratt Institute in New York, double-Masters degree in Urban Planning & Business Administration from Columbia University, and has attended the Culinary Institute of America in Rochester, New York.
Prior to joining Blueplate, Mr. Kwan was the Asia-based partner of acclaimed restaurant designer Tony Chi and founder of Tribeca Asia Design in Kuala Lumpur. Mr. Kwan has not only designed, but also opened and cooked in his own restaurants, taking full advantage of his advanced skill sets. He has opened numerous restaurants throughout Asia partnering with several Michellin star chefs.
Business associates describe Mr. Kwan as a visionary. He prides himself on examining a project from all points of view and pushing the creative envelope to deliver a product that is innovative, yet sensible. Having traveled extensively around the world, Mr. Kwan utilizes his in-depth knowledge of competitive markets, worldwide and localized trends, as well as cutting-edge design concepts.
